Would you like to do something very effective about low tolerance speeding fines?
Many of you would like to see something done about speed cameras and low tolerance fines, but don’t feel as individuals you can do much about it.
Well you may be surprised to know that there is a very simple mechanism for getting something done.
It is as simple as sending a letter expressing your will to the politicians of your choice.
Don't forget that under our Constitution (both Commonwealth and Victorian) the people (who also happen to be motorists) are the highest authority. Our Constitution does not recognise political parties or positions such as Premier, it only recognises representatives. The ones we elect to govern “for and on behalf of the people” and to ensure that our WILL is undertaken.
To quote the Victorian Constitution Act 1975 - section 16A. The principle of Government mandate (1)(b) "the Government's general mandate—to govern for and on behalf of the people of Victoria."
First you should read this link on how to express your WILL. This is very powerful stuff, take time to understand its significance and the multiplication effects that come from your letters. You can apply this to any issue you wish to see resolved, not only low tolerance speeding fines.
Then following this very simple principle, two letters have been put together (use them as basis for your letter).
The first one expresses your WILL http://www.fightfines.info/word/WillLetter1.doc
The second is to re-express your will in the event that you get a reply that sidesteps the issue. http://www.fightfines.info/word/WillLetter2.doc. Take note of the instructions link, if you get a "sidestep the issue" reply, don't enter into conversation, simply re-state your WILL as set out in the second letter.
You will find all of the contact details of your Victorian politicians here: Politician Contact Details.
To quote Arthur Chesby:
"It must never be forgotten that ordinary people have the legal privilege, if they wish to exercise it, of quietly approaching relatives, friends, acquaintances and others inviting them to write such 'MY WILL' letters to their Member and Senators."
"All that is required is that an individual with a determination to act lawfully to right or alter something he doesn't like, and with the initiative to do so, is to write his "MY WILL" letter, show others and encourage them to do likewise. There are a multitude of issues upon which people have strong convictions and the simple "MY WILL" letter is their lawful simple way of telling their M.P."
"THE SOLE LEGAL FUNCTION of a Member of Parliament IS TO FREELY ADVISE the Queen in the government of the Country, according to the clearly expressed will of the people, on any matter or thing, i.e., his sole legal function is to legislate."
"A Parliamentarian, armed with the written proof of the 'WILL" of his electors, upon any issue, can completely ignore party pressures and set about faithfully fulfilling his judicially defined legal function and legal duty. He is free to be a Parliamentarian and not, as at present in most cases, a mere party yes man. THE "MY WILL" LETTER IS A LEGAL DEMONSTRATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY IN ACTION." |
The rest is up to you.
